last night, i couldn't sleep and was all grouchy and blah, so i summoned the jie to my room and asked her to tell me a story. she said okay, and sat on my bed. And this is what she said:
There once, was a goat. (here i go, WITH ACTIONS JIE!! so she promptly contorts her hand into a supposed goat shape and starts again.)
There once, was a goat. and the goat, felt his family didnt love him. so one day, he decided to leave.
(makes goat trot along the length of my bed)
But.
(pause)
THERE WAS A STORM.
so the goat decided to head home.
(makes goat trot back.)
andddd. HIS DAD WAS STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, WITH HIS ARMS WIDE OPEN!!!
and he said. "my kid! you have come home!" and embraced him.
"we have prepared a feast for you, even some choice mutton"
"see the sacrifice your brother had to make for you!"
and the goat felt, LOVED.
hahhahaahah i laughed until i almost DIED. seriously. i couldn't breathe! her expressions and actions were just so damn funny. plus the story was so, so warped. hahahah. i love my sis(: call me mean, but i'm actually slightly happy she's sick today, so she could take mc and stay home with meee! we are kicking off the day with ordering mcdelivery. one cannot survive on a diet of phlegm. nuh uh.

reflecting back on the prayer that we sang as an encore piece to end off AEWF 07, i think the words are really encouraging(: i shall try to remember this always.

today was a good day(:
it's been awhile since the impromptu after church lunches, and i'm glad my parents laxed up and let me go for this one. it was good company and good scenery, not very good food but NEHMIND. was great talking to jiam too! aunt agony indeed, haha. i'm very tired now. my afternoon nap was interspersed with screams by my nephew who was visiting. "I DONT WANT THOMAS!! I WANT LORRY!!!" gosh. he should thank his lucky stars he's actually pretty cute.

i have learnt that, the sooner you accept things the way they are, the better it is for you. it's not necessarily the most ideal option, but i do think that settling for reality is quite likely to give you more peace than constantly chasing after dreams.
which isn't to say it's easy to just "suck it up! deal with it!" (as SOMEONE likes to say, hur hur!) just that maybe it's being more realistic. i don't know. i really don't anymore. just that, some things you can't change, no matter how much you wish for a magic wand and fairygodmother package deal.
today was a good day though(: went to cut hair with tania and kenneth after school and went for haato! haha taboo was a blast, i love<3. tania is damn funny, hahaha she went "oh oh wait wait wait" and hurriedly put down her coffee cup before she burst out laughing at kenneth's stupidity. hahhaa. that was fun too, his lamebrained attempts at making distracting noises! AHHAHA SO IRRITATING YOU. anyway i loved this break from studying(: makes me harpee! you guys made my day((:

TODAY, 13 JULY 2008, WAS THE DAY I FELL IN LOVE.
no he wasn't tall dark and handsome. (probably some day he will be, but not yet.)
but he is THE most adorablest thing ever! presenting,
the nephew, caleb tan (featured with the eema)
oh my gosh doesn't your heart melt when you look at him!! he's only 1 1/2 years old, but he is super smart (he knows how to use my PHONE for goodness sake!) and sweet and gentle and CUTES! aiyoma. i wanted to bring him home. AND HAHA HE DOESNT LIKE MY MOTHER!!! SO THERE!
anyway, okay fine, the family gathering wasn't as boring as i thought it was gonna be. at least the sis and alan showed up, so we could carry out our mandatory bitching session on the weird relatives. even my PARENTS joined in. FAINTEDZ. and then i spent half the time playing with caleb and making sure he didnt roll down the stairs. okay anyway, i am going to study geog now bye

this was the gorgeous sunset i saw from my corridor as i went home today. times like these, i always stop and thank God, coz it really is the icing on the cake to end off the day with such a pretty spectacle. i think God must be quite a tremendous artist, to paint the sky with different colours and designs everyday. i likes(:
